A 20-year-old newly married woman living in Chhola Mandir area committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling on Wednesday.
Police have not found a suicide note from the deceased. At the same time, the girl's mother has alleged that the daughter committed suicide after being fed up with the harassment of her son-in-law.
The incident took place late on Wednesday night, after the post-mortem on Thursday morning, the body was handed over to the family. In the case, the police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Kajal Gupta (20) was a resident of Goli Gupta Shankar Nagar Odia Basti Chhola. She was a housewife and her husband is an auto driver. She got married on March 4, 2024. Her first anniversary was to come after 12 days.
The deceased's mother Neetu Gupta said that since the marriage, the son-in-law used to harass the daughter. He used to pressure her to get different things from her maternal home. Recently he got her a mobile phone, now he started demanding a car. He used to harass the daughter for this.
