Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Tuesday informed in the State Assembly that the State's new Transport Policy would be introduced within a month’s time.

Replying to a query of Arif Aqueel of Congress during the Question Hour, the Minister said a high-level committee was constituted to formulate the policy and it was referred to the Unified Metropolitan Transportation Authority (UMTA), an urban transportation planning agency, and the same would be enforced after agency's approval.

Aqueel alleged that the Chief Minister promised to bring in the policy within 100-day of completion of work but it was yet to see the light of the day. Despite the Minister's reply, the Congress Member insisted that the exact date of introduction of the policy should be informed to the House.

To another question regarding the construction of Aero City in 545 acres land under the Bhopal Development Corporation's first phase of work where alleged irregularities were reported by the construction companies, Vijayvargiya said that work was in progress.

The Minister also admitted that the Department had received a complaint against a sub-engineer and a departmental inquiry was ordered into case. He informed that the report would be submitted soon.
