Madhya Pradesh, which has brought a name on the sports map of the country and the world, is now once again going to carve new talent. The Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh is preparing to hunt and develope new players. For this, “MP Chief Minister Cup Competitions” are being organised from November 21.
Notably, the "Chief Minister's Cup" started from the year 2015-16. It was decided by the Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia that Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia to search and train talents at the village level in various sports academies operating in the state. The main objective of "Mukhyamantri Cup" is to create awareness among the youth about sports, make the game accessible to all, identify talented players at the development block and village level and provide adequate training to talented and budding players.
After this decision of the government, "Chief Minister's Cup" is being organised with this purpose. Starting from 21 November 2022, the "Chief Minister's Cup" will be organised in 4 phases. In the first phase, there will be a league competition of players and teams of players selected from the division at the block headquarters, in the second phase, the district headquarters, in the third phase, ten divisional headquarters and in the fourth phase at the state level.
Athletics, Kabaddi, Wrestling, Volleyball, Football and Kho-Kho competitions will be held on a league basis by involving local sports bodies, clubs, schools, sports associations and players-sports teams of Gram Panchayat in the block. Only the players selected in the block will be included in the district, division and state level competition.
The special thing is that only boys and girls players of the age group below 18 years will participate in the "Chief Minister's Cup". Age will be calculated from 31st December 2022. It is mandatory for the player to be a native of Madhya Pradesh. Verification of age will be mandatory at every competition level. In case of age verification error, the player will be expelled from that sports competition.
