New rake of 25 coaches of New Modified High Speed Goods (NMGH) has been completed for use by CRWS Bhopal on August 31 , it is the first rake of NMGH Design Automobile Carrier Coach by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in Indian Railways.
Initially Railway Board has decided to convert 100 coaches of New Modified Goods to New Modified High Speed Goods.
The speed of new NMGH coach has been increased to 110 kmph from 75 kmph and in the same manner loading capacity has also been increased from 9.2 tonnes to 30.4 tonnes.
The dimensions have been made in such a manner that SUV, tractor, Tata 407 automobile could be transported.
Barrel type locking would add to safety as compared to earlier used Aldrop Bolt Locking system.
