leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh has said that it should be investigated as on whose recommendation Surendra Kumar Kathuria was posted in Satna as Municipal Commissioner.
In a statement, Singh said that soon after winning elections in 2013, in the Collector-Commissioner conference, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had declared that zero tolerance system would be implemented against corruption. However, this case of Kathuria’s corruption in which he had demanded bribe of Rs 40 lakh and gold worth Rs 10 lakh, has exposed the Chief Minister, he alleged.
later, he was caught red-handed taking the bribe of Rs 12 lakh and gold biscuits.
He alleged that this is the outcome of difference in Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s statement and action that Madhya Pradesh has become a golden State for corrupt officials. He further alleged that the main reason behind the present situation is that these corrupt officials have patronage of powerful ruling party leaders and the officials get plum postings through auction.
Singh stated that the incident has clearly indicated that Simhastha was conducted only with the help of these corrupt officials and the officers that were associated with the toilet scam in Simhastha were connected directly to the Chief Minister.
He alleged that Kathuria’s police was connected to the Chief Minister. He claimed that when Kathuria was posted as additional Commissioner in Indore, his report was not good, but even then he was posted in Satna as Commisisoner because the parameter for good posting is corruption.
