The new body of BJP State president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan has disappointed several party leaders who were waiting for long to get good positions.
Faces finalised are supporters of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar have got the place in the body, besides few faces directly from the RSS.
Ironically, before finalising the list, Chouhan had interviewed the aspiring leaders personally and the exercise took over a month. However, the outcome was entirely different to that the incumbents had wished.
The key post of Media in-Charge was filled directly getting the incumbent from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). There were several local names that were doing rounds for this position, but with the RSS dictate, nobody raised voice.
Most of the office-bearers from the previous body and the BJYM body were interested on this post.
Moreover, Hitesh Bajpai, who is at present Chairman of Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, also wanted to continue as State Media in- Charge. After he was appointed as vice chairman, leaders had voiced against him saying that he should be removed from the organisational post as he has been rewarded with political posting.
Bajpai is annoyed with the new body, as national vice chairman of Nehru Yuva Kendra Vishnu Dutt Sharma has been appointed as general secretary in the body. This clearly indicated that there is no such criterion that any leader appointed chairman or vice chairman cannot be accommodated in the organization.
Besides, there are a number of leaders who had been working whether as spokesman or news channel panelist, have been sidelined. They include Deepak Vijaywargiya, Rajneesh Agrawal, Prakash Mirchandani and Rakesh Sharma. Out of them, only Agrawal has been accommodated in the capacity of co media in-charge, while others have been shunted. This way, Rajneesh has lost claims over other post.
Another flaw in the newly declared State executive body was that Member of Parliament from Bhopal Alok Sanjar has been inducted in the organization as Spokesperson, while before being elected as an MP, he was Office Secretary of the party in BJP headquarters. Moreover, there has been no such precedence in the State, when a parliamentarian has been made spokesperson.
Sources said that two leaders Rajneesh Agrawal and Uday Agrawal were summoned personally by the State president asking whether they are interested in becoming media in-charge, but they had refused saying that they needed good position in the BJYM or as spokespersons. However, when the body was declared, they have been appointed as co-media in-charge.
Rajneesh has been BJYM general secretary and in the last body, he was vice-president in the Morcha. He was also face of the party on news channels as panelist.
Ajay Pratap Singh has been rewarded as general secretary with the recommendations of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Similarly, former organizational general secretaries Kaptan Singh Solanki and Arvind Menon had a say in the appointment of Arvind Bhadoriya as State vice-president.
