Governor Ram Naresh Yadav has said that India’s first Prime Minister late Pt Jawaharlal Nehru loved children very much and wished to see their faces as fresh as roses.
He said that the late Pt Nehru saw the country’s future in the children. Pt Nehru was the propounder of modern India.
The Governor stated this at a Children’s Day function held by Madhya Pradesh Children’s Welfare Council at the Raj Bhavan on Saturday. Governor Yadav garlanded a photograph of Pt Nehru and paid tribute to him.
Joint Secretary VP Chaturvedi threw light on council’s activities. Tiny tots presented nationalistic songs and plays.
Principal Secretary to Governor Ajay Tirkey, office-bearers, teachers and senior officers of Raj Bhavan were present on the occasion. Council’s Vice-President Somesh Dayal Sharma proposed a vote of thanks.
