A student applied for post-graduation course, could not get admission in the Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya (MVM), due to the negligence by help centre of Higher Education department.
The victim student Chandra Mohan Singh had passed BSc with physics and mathematics from the MVM in June 2013 with aggregate of 71 per cent marks. later, he had applied for admission in MSc Physics or mathematics in the same college. He registered on the portal of Department of Higher Education (DHE) for online admission and got his documents verified at the help centre in MVM on June 25, this year.
When the allotment list was released by DHE, Singh’s name was missing from it. When he learnt that students with less marks got seats allotted he approached DHE where he was informed that MVM help desk did not upload his documents’ verification details on the portal of DHE due to which his admission application was considered incomplete making him ineligible for counseling.
Singh told ‘The Pioneer’ that “I still have the copy of verified documents with seal-stamp of MVM help desk. My classmates with lower percentage in graduation than me have got seats allotted and seats have been filled up in the physics and mathematics branch.”
He further said “Now I am being asked by college faculty members to apply for College level Counseling (ClC) but it is not confirmed that any seat will remain vacant for my admission.” Government MVM Principal Abha Gargav said that she has not received any such complaint of negligence in verification work. She assured that the matter will be investigated on Tuesday and necessary action will be taken.
