Consultant Rekha Singhal who is leading the analysis team told The Pioneer that all the aspects which police personnel and officials on the field deal with have to be studied. The training centres of the State and other States have been visited to understand the present level of training and changes which would be incorporated for making it better.
Police trainings would be incorporated with enhanced skill development to tackle difficult and emergency situations and soon the training modules would include more of these under Training Need Analysis. The analysis is being conducted to incorporate things which could make the trainings better, she said.
There are several aspects which have to be studied. Trainers could impart training but the situations in the field have to deal by the policemen and had to prepare accordingly which would require enhancement of the skills, she added.
Singhal said that it is very easy to find faults but it would become easier if changes are incorporated for the betterment if required. In most of the cases training modules and trainings have been found adequate and which is a good part as nothing significant would have to be included and in case if small things are required they would be recommended.
Details of findings were not provided by Singhal, she said for the enhancement of the skills which is the need of the hour the analysis has been done. The details could not be shared and results would be provided to the senior officials of police as it requires maintaining the confidentiality. It would help in developing better understanding on their capabilities and methods to improve them.
