After the loud and clear message by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to deal with the different mafias of the State with iron hand, inputs were received by Indore collector Manish Singh regarding the storage of methanol in industrial areas of Indore district for which an effective action was taken against the drug mafia in Indore.
The excise department Indore searched many industrial units in Sanwer industrial area.
Around 6500 liters of methanol was confiscated from Unidrug unit where it was kept without license. 160 liters were confiscated from the Panchsheel organics limited where it was stored without license.
The liquor smugglers use methanol for making adulterated liquor which sometimes also result in death of people. Assistant commissioner excise Indore Raj Narayan Soni led the trap conducted by Indore excise department on these two factories. Excise controller Rajeev Dwivedi, ADEO Awadesh Pandey SI Nitin Ashapure led the search operation.
