With the nomination of NDA Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu, BJP expects to beat organisations like Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti Sangathan (JAYS). By meeting all the tribal MLAs of the Congress, support is being sought for Murmu, the first presidential candidate of the tribal class.
The party also has made a strategy that the tribal leaders of the BJP will meet former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and urge him to vote for Murmu. According to party sources, the BJP has given the responsibility of giving full publicity to the tribal leaders of the state about Murmu's candidature.
Draupadi Murmu has held positions like MLA, minister and governor. In fact, in the 2018 assembly elections, the tribals had drifted away from the BJP. The BJP had to suffer in the last elections due to an organisation like JAYS operating in Malvanchal.
The BJP wants to compensate for its loss with Murmu's candidature for the post of President.
