Newly-appointed Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan formally assumed the office here on Wednesday at the party's state headquarters on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay campus.
Chouhan started his new innings by offering prayers to lord Ganesha in his chamber. Soon after assuming office he expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, outgoing state president and Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, state organizational general secretary Arvind Menon, central leadership and party organisation for bestowing the responsibility to lead state.
Chouhan, addressing the party workers and office-bearers present on the occasion, said, "I ensure everyone that I would move ahead with all of you and expect cooperation from all of you. I need cooperation, support and suggestions of every party worker. Our commitment is to continuously expand the organisation. No section of society should feel itself alienated from us and that is why we should work to bring everyone close to us."
Chouhan further said, "I would not let down the central and state leadership that has shown trust on a simple party worker like me and I would not let any stone unturned in executing the responsibility shouldered on me. The trust of leadership is precious heritage for me and to meet the expectations of it I would put on every possible effort. "
He called on the party workers, leaders and office-bearers to start preparations for the ensuing local body elections on time so that the party could register massive victory in them. "We should bury our personal differences and work united to get success in the local body elections that are as important for the party as assembly and parliamentary elections," he added.
lauding chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the BJP state president said that it is the good luck of the state that it has got a public hero like him.
