Despite Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's reservations over declaring his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi as BJP's prime ministerial candidate, senior member of State Cabinet Babulal Gaur on Monday advocated NaMo nomination.

Gaur said the announcement of NaMo as the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP would not have any harm in Madhya Pradesh; instead it would benefit the party in the run-up to the Assembly elections scheduled later in the year.

Gaur also a former Chief Minister of the State came in favor of Modi and while talking to media persons said the Bharatiya Janata Party election campaign committee chairman is popular among the youth of the country and projecting him as the prime ministerial candidate before the Assembly elections of the state would benefit the party.

Gaur, a nine-time legislator said he would continue his political journey and would not only contest for the tenth time but would also emerge victorious. When asked who has been a better Chief Minister, Chouhan or Modi, the veteran leader replied diplomatically that both are good and are doing their work in their respective states.

On Congress party projecting Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia as the election campaign committee chairman, the senior BJP leader said the era of Raja and Maharajas has gone and that Scindia would not be able to make any impact on the Assembly election results in the state.Gaur's support to Modi is a setback for Chouhan who is often projected as the competitor of Modi.
