Amateurish attitude or naïve. This is what one can best describe the candidate of Govindpura Assembly constituency of Bhopal.
On other hand, contesting from Govindpura constituency against BJP veteran leader and former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur could be termed political suicide and fielding a candidate who has never contested any election will ruin the chances of any fight and constituency will witness a one- sided contest.
But for Govind Goyal, also general secretary of State Congress, who is now contesting the election for first time, the journey would be not so smooth.
Sometimes he was seen confused how to handle the number of people contacting him after he was declared the candidate.He was seen surrounded by Congress corporators of Govindpura constituency. Among the Congress Corporators Girish Sharma, Manish Yadav and Mahendra Pramar were present.
One of his supporters Shamim who arrived to lend helping hand told that the around 71 calls were received by Goyal till the afternoon. The exact data was available as all the calls were noted down by those managing the campaign and scheduling.
His office at JK Road came into existence around 15 days back but those who have to reach the office has to contact Goyal or his supporters which he is currently swarmed with Congressmen and local supporters. He even handed over his phone to one of his woman supporters to field the calls who was not able to provide the schedule of Goyal.
Inexperienced in contesting any election could be clearly observed as during the day lack of communication with the mediapersons and supporters was seen which also points that a strategy to launch a campaign and make the campaign a success was clearly missing.
JP Dhanopia was seen opposing Goyal’s candidature in his interview given to a local news channel after the first list of candidates was released on Friday.
Congressmen who came to meet Goyal were disappointed by his attitude and were found discussing that if the attitude of Goyal would remain the same they would not work for the election campaign.
