Absconding murder accused who killed his girlfriend's roommate in Bengaluru, Karnataka, was arrested by Bengaluru police from Raisen on Friday night.
The accused Abhishek Ghoshi is a resident of Begumganj in Raisen district.
He murdered the girl on July 23. The accused entered a girls' hostel in Bengaluru and stabbed the girl to death. The girl hailed from Bihar, CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which the accused is seen continuously attacking the girl. The accused suspected that his relationship with his girlfriend had been ruined because of the girl.
Abhishek came to Bhopal after killing the girl in Bengaluru. Bengaluru police reached Bhopal while tracing the location. From here the accused reached Begumganj in Raisen district. The police arrested him from Begumganj and brought him to Bhopal and from here they took him to Bengaluru.
The victim, 24-year-old Kriti Kumari was a resident of Bihar
used to work as a sales marketing officer in a private mobile company in Bengaluru. She lived in a PG hostel in Koramangala area. An unknown youth who came to the hostel on Tuesday night brutally murdered her. After the incident, the accused fled from Bengaluru to Bhopal. The entire incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the hostel.
This incident occurred at 11 pm on July 23. In the CCTV footage, the accused was seen stabbing the girl.
South East Division Bengaluru DCP Sara Fatima said that the accused Abhishek has done BSc graduation while living in Bhopal. He used to visit Bengaluru. He had a close relationship with the deceased's friend. The accused has been produced in the court and taken on 10-day remand.
In the CCTV footage, the accused is seen entering the hostel. He reaches in front of the girl's room and knocks on the door. After some time, as soon as the gate opens, he pulls Kriti out into the corridor. Then a scuffle begins between the two. The accused grabs the woman by the throat and attacks her neck repeatedly.
The accused also attacks her stomach and face. Leaving her bleeding, he runs away. Hearing the noise, other girls open the door and look outside, then go into the room. Kriti also pleads to another woman standing far away to save her, but due to fear she is unable to muster courage.
After the attack, Kriti sits down covered in blood. She also screams for help. The mates of the PG hostel slowly open the door of their room, but no one can muster courage to help. They are also seen trying to make a phone call.
