In the Tourism Year of 2015-16, Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) on Saturday organised a lecture of Sushmita Pandey, HOD of Ancient History in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University. The lecture was a step in the series of ‘History of Madhya Pradesh Tourism lecture Series’.
In her lecture, Sushmita Pandey described the relevance and universality of stories of Buddhism engraved at Sanchi. In her rational lecture, she described about symbols in Sanchi Stupa premises. She explained about the philosophies engraved in the World heritage site.
In the programme, admirers of history were present along with the distinguished guests. The presence of a number of people at the conference hall of Palash Residency reflected that people of Bhopal are curious to know about history of MP.
The organisers said that the series of lectures will be organised every month in this year. It will help to inform people about history of Madhya Pradesh and people will come to know about the glorious past of the State. Consequently, tourism in the State will be promoted.
