The students of Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) learnt about the facts of filmmaking in a workshop that concluded at MPSD campus on Monday.

On the concluding day, four short movies made by the participants were screened. The four movies include, In His Fathers Shows, Humara Neta Kaisa Ho, Niyati and Aisa Bhi Hoga.

The workshop was conducted by a renowned film writer and actor of Bollywood Atul Tiwari.

As the movies were screened, the audience were impressed by the skills of the students. The audience appreciated the dedication and hard work put in by the students in making the movies of different genres. Though almost all the movie dealt with the social issues yet their presentation was different.

During the workshop, Atul taught the students about the basics of filmmaking and how to deal with the projects. He emphasised upon both production and pre-production aspects of filmmaking.

The students enjoyed learning about filmmaking and how it is different from theatres. Notably, film making is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performances of may be real or imagined events on screen before the audiences. Here, the performers have to communicate these events through combination of gestures, speech, song, music and dance. This was taught to the students in the workshop.

The students were trained to improvise the sense of looking at things with a different perspective. Further, the students are also taught basic exercises to strengthen their thought process. Students were given assignments to apply in their theatrical personality and performance. Further rehearsals of acting, sound, light was done and camera handling was also taught.

It was an enthralling experience for the students as well as the audience and the faculty members of MPSD.
