MP's ruling, Opp MlAs demand probe

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Monday witnessed uproarious scenes over the alleged conversion at a juvenile home when members both from the Treasury and Opposition benches put the Government in the dock.

Harsh Yadav of the Congress raised the issue of missing of inmates from the juvenile home at Sagar district headquarters and financial irregularities in an institution during Question Hour and demanded an investigation by a retired judge and a committee of the members of the legislative Assembly.

In her reply, Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh informed the House that the inmates were not missing but they were transferred to another home. Shailendra Jain and Pradeep lariya (Both ruling Bharatiya Janata Party) supported Yadav's demand.

They also alleged that conversion of inmates was taking place in the home and important documents were being tampered with.

Echoing the demand of Yadav, both the BJP members also demanded a probe by a retired judge and formation a legislative committee to look into the matter.

A ruckus-like situation prevailed when members demanded an inquiry into the matter.

However, the Minister agreed to investigate the matter, but did not mention about conversion.

Earlier, a member of the main Opposition Congress in the Assembly staged a walkout over dissatisfaction with the reply from the Minister concerned.

During Question Hour, Kamleshwar Patel asked about the appointment of doctors and staff whose posts remained vacant for long and he wanted to know about the timeframe of appointment. The responsibility rested upon the contractual employees but since they are on strike, the health service remained crippled, Patel alleged.

In his reply, Minister of State for Health Sharad Jain said that the discussion was on with the contractual employees in this regard and the matter would be resolved soon.

Mukesh Nayak of the Congress sought a clarification form Health Minister Narottam Mishra citing his deputy's reply as irresponsible.

To this, Mishra said that the applications for the vacant posts were published and the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission would recruit it. He said due to this, the process was being delayed and it would be completed soon.

Patel said that the Government was giving same reply for the past 12 years and, dissatisfied with the Minister's reply, he staged a walkout.
