Concerned over violation of freedom and pride of women, Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPRHC) has made significant recommendations to Principal Secretary of Jail and DG of Jail, MPHRC has made recommendations in a case of violation of freedom and pride of woman.
Taking cognizance in the case of rape victim woman MPRHC recommended that the victim should be paid a compensation of `2 lakh for infringing freedom and violating her pride under section 18 A of Protection of Human Rights Act-1993.
Safe place for men and women visitors from villages should be arranged. Woman personnel or officials should be deployed to help the women visitors and their contact number should be displayed over the notice board.
Superintendent of Jail and Deputy Superintendent of Jail should be made responsible for taking action to curb incidences with women. In case if employee posted at the jail commits crime and even after committing crime action or legal action is not taken against the culprit in that case action should be taken against Superintendent of Jail as the officer is responsible for maintaining the order in the jail and creating a safer atmosphere for the visitors.
The main gate of the jail should be installed with CCTV cameras which would help in keeping an account of the visitors and the reason due to which visitors are denied of meeting the prisoner. In the same concern MPHRC has written letter for recommendations to Principal Prison and DG Jail for the improvement in correctional services.
