MPPSC to annul 16 questions in preliminary exams

In an important decision, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission buckling to ongoing protest of the candidates has decided to annul 16 questions of the MPPSC preliminary examination-2013. Instead of awarding bonus marks on these questions, the Commission has decided to announce results of the preliminary examinations on the basis of 184 questions asked in both the papers of the examination.

Informing this, deputy secretary, MPPSC, Vandana Vaid said the decision has been taken here today by the Commission by taking due cognizance to the demands and memoranda of students in this regard. She said as decided, the Commission will declare results of the 2013 preliminary examination of the MPPSC on the basis of 184 questions asked in both the papers of the examination, instead of awarding bonus marks on 16 questions.

Opposing the state public service commission’s move to award "bonus" marks for each "wrong question" in the preliminary examination held in 2013, candidates  had been protesting here for the past sometime, reiterating that their agitation will continue until and unless the Commissions accedes to their demands.

Over four lakh candidates had appeared for the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination on July 27, 2013, for filling nearly 800 post vacant posts in different government departments. However on August 29 this year, the commission had admitted errors in a dozen questions in the general studies paper and four questions in the general aptitude paper of preliminary examination and decided to award two "bonus" marks for each wrong question.
