Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has taken cognizance over the incident of not treating a rape victim of Dindori in any hospital. Besides, the Commission has also sought reports in a sexual and physical exploitation case related to children in Bairagarh’s government residential hostel. The Commission has told the related Collector, Superintendent of Police (SP) and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) to submit detailed report of the issues.
The MPHRC taking cognizance over forcing a rape victim in Dindori to move from one hospital to another for getting her Medico legal Case (MlC) done asked the Dindori Collector, SP and CMHO to submit detailed report of the case with it. The Commission has wished to know that as to why the medical of the rape victim was not done. When did she reach the hospital and when she was sent to which hospital and at the last when was the medical doneIJ What were the reasons for the delay in her medicalIJ The concerning officials would have to answer all these questions in their report.
In other case, the MPHRC has taken cognizance over sexual and physical abuse of children in Bairagarh’s government residential hostel. The Commission has sought detailed report from Bhopal Collector and SP over the incidence.
Notably, a social organization has lodged complaint of the case related with the sexual and physical abuse of children with Child line and Education Department besides making complaint in the Bairagarh Police Station. The Social Organization has alleged that the police have not taken action against the hostel warden under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act).
The police booked hostel warden under section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC and two other sections of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules. Parents, however, wanted police to arrest warden under POCSO and SC/ST prevention of atrocities Act 1989 and subsequent compensation.
