Taking serious note of delivery of a woman on the road, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) issued notice to Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Sehore seeking report over it.

The MPHRC taking serious cognizance of the issue of delivery of pregnant woman Manju Bai on road and dropping her at the Sehore Hospital gate at 2 am at the place of taking her to Bhopal by Janni Express issued notices to Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department and Chief Medical and Health Officer Sehore seeking report over it.

The MPHRC has considered this issue as abuse of woman’s dignity and human rights. The Commission has asked the CMHO Sehore that as to why the pregnant woman was not admitted in the hospital and who is responsible for that besides the Commission has wished to know from the CMHO that why Janni Express did not carried her to hospital.

Manju Bai, wife of Ajab Singh, resident of Dheer village in Sehore district was brought to district hospital on the night of Tuesday at about 11.30 pm, the doctors immediately referred her to Bhopal.

On duty Dr Shashi Kabra said that Manju needed blood. Some blood was even infused to her but her condition did not improve so we referred her to Bhopal. Janni Express was called that reached after an hour and in that Manju and her husband were sent to Bhopal in that.

But as soon as the Janni Express moved out of Sehore the driver of the Janni Express Prakash demanded `500 from husband of Manju that was not met due to that Prakash got angry and returned to district hospital and after dropping the pregnant women there at 2 am he fled away. After sometime the pregnant woman delivered a girl child on the road. The conditions of both mother and newborn deteriorated on Wednesday morning and they were sent to Bhopal by ambulance.
