The intervention of the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) proved fruitful for retired AYUSH (Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) officer who started getting pension after the Commission took cognizance of the issue.

The retired AYUSH officer RC Jain was able to get his pension from August 2013 to March 2014 only after the Commission took cognizance in his case. The Commission has also made important recommendations in this reference.

Panna resident retired AYUSH district officer RC Jain has lodged complaint with the Commission that despite applying to transfer his pension from district treasury Singrauli to district treasury Panna is not done. Besides, he was not provided pension from August 2013 to March 2014.

On getting complaint of Jain the Commission sought report from district treasury officer Singrauli and district treasury officer Panna. The district treasury officer Singrauli in his report to the Commission informed that the payment of pension from September 2012 to July 2013 has already been done to the applicant while the issue of transfer of his pension from Singrauli to Panna has been forwarded to district treasury Panna.

On the other hand the treasury officer Panna appeared before the Commission and informed that a letter was sent to Sewni treasury for transferring the pension of the applicant from the State Bank of India (SBI) – Singrauli to SBI Panna but the case was not transferred due to that Jain could not get the pension from August 2013 to March 2014. However, he started getting his pension from August 2014.

The Commission took the issue further and wrote to additional principal secretary finance to take necessary steps so that the pensioners could get rid of the problems they are facing due to delay in getting pension. The Commissions initiatives worked and Jain got his due pension also that was from August 2013 to March 2014.
