The intervention of Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) brought smiles of five persons of Harda district who were distressed since last three months for not getting ration from the Government fair price shop.
Five people of Harda district were denied ration for past three months from government fair price shops as their IDs were not recognized by POS machines.
They were in utter distress until the MPHRC took cognizance of the issue and solved the case.
Manglu, Salku, Modiram, Somlal and Champa filed a petition with MPHRC that they are not being given any ration for past three months stating that their IDs are not recognized by the POS machines installed at government fair price shops. Previously they used to get 30 kilograms of wheat, five kilograms of rice, one kilogram of sugar and four litres of kerosene.
The panchayat secretary informed that their names have been removed from the computer system. On receiving the petition the MPHRC took cognizance and directed the collector to take necessary steps and report.
The collector investigated the matter through the district supply officer Harda who informed that the distribution of the ration is being carried out as per the POS machines. The IDs of the petitioners are not recognized by the machines which caused the issue.
Now the correction has been made and the petitioners will get their share of ration regularly. With the initiative take by the MPHRC the issue has been solved without further delay.
