MPCC raises questions on Gangwar transfer

The chief spokesperson of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), KK Mishra has raised a question on the methodology of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the State government over the transfer of Barwani Collector Ajay Singh Gangwar for posting the historical accounts of Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on social media.

Mishra has written a letter to Chief Secretary of the State and reminded him that the use of social media was permitted by the government. Gangwar was given a notice by the Chief Secretary as per the directive of Chouhan.

Mishra further said that on May 22, 2014 all the teachers, village assistants, patwari, police constables, forest guards and senior officials were directed to use social media. This proves the double standard followed by the Chief Secretary in the case of Gangwar. The Department of General Administration has directed to use the social media to gain feedback and to spread awareness through social media, he added.

Mishra further said that Gangwar was well within his limits, yet he got punished. This proves that Chouhan too has double standards and he acts and speaks differently. The action taken by the Chief Secretary is discouraging for other government employees as they will restrict themselves from freedom of expression and minimize or abstain from the use of social media, he added.

Mishra said that the social media was misused during the Bihar Vidhan Sabha election. He further said that GS Vadhva has supported BJP on social media and violated the service rules for which the congress party has filed a complaint with election commission on October 17, 2015.
