MPCC president kick-starts Parivartan Yatra in Sidhi village

Published on:

Madhya Pradesh Congress following instructions of party Vice President Rahul Gandhi launched the Statewide ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from the far flung tribal populated village Tikri under Dhohni assembly constituency of Sidhi district. MPCC president and MP Kantilal Bhuria and leader of opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh launched the programme.

The ‘Parivartan Yatra’ would be organised in all the 230 assembly constituencies of the state. Bhuria addressing the public meeting on the occasion said, “The ‘Parivartan Yatra’ of Congress would deliver the message of power change in every nook and corner of the state. Countdown for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule has begun in the state with this Yatra.

The huge turnout in this remote place is proving that the winds of change have started flowing in the state.”

Bhuria further said that the BJP government of the state acting on the instructions of the capitalists snatched the land of tribals and Dalits at the throwaway price. Appropriate compensation is a faraway thing the BJP government has not left any piece of land for the living of tribals and Dalits.

Bhuria said the Centre had given Rs 112 crore to the Madhya Pradesh government under MNREGA last year, but only Rs53 crore reached the people. Where the money went should be found out, he said.

Ajay Singh said the road ahead for Congress, in the election year, was full of struggle.  Addressing public meetings at four places in the district on the first day of the party's RsParivartan yatra', Ajay recalled that when his father, the late Arjun Singh, was the leader of Opposition and Shivbhanu Singh Solanki, a tribal, was state Congress chief in 1980s, the party had won all the seats from Sidhi district. He said he was hoping that this feat would be repeated in Assembly elections this year.

Singh said, “The Parivartan Yatra is need of the hour for making the people of State free from the exploitation of the BJP. The state is in the grip of the anarchy, corruption and jungle rule and the ministers of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan Cabinet and Chief Minister himself is responsible for the plight of the state.”

Singh assured the MPCC president that all the seven assembly constituencies of the Sidhi Singrauli would be won by the Congress in the coming assembly elections, “I am making this commitment on behalf of the people of my districts” Singh added.
