MP Tourism Board to hold women trek

Published on:

MP Tourism Board in collaboration with Moustache Escapes is embarking on a journey that’s the first of its kind - Queens on the trail. The trail is located in the Satpura region, near Madhya Pradesh’s beloved hill station, Pachmarhi. The trail experiences many unique landscapes, rock formations, wildlife, waterfalls, ponds, etc.

For the first time ever, an all-women’s group will complete the trek. The trek will start from Gypsy camp, Panarpani Pachmarhi to Dehliya (17km) the Dehliya to Kajighat, from Kajighat to Denwa riverside (13km) then return to Gypsy Camp Panarpani. The total distance of the trail will be 30km, which will be covered by 15 women trekkers of Pink suitcase Group Indore in 04days/03 night.

Forsyth trail is the expedition Captain James Forsyth headed 150 years ago which led him to a plateau’s discovery where today sits the town Pachmarhi. Pachmarhi is the highest point of Madhya Pradesh. His steps will be re-traced by the batch of women who will take the inaugural walk on it.

The women who walk the hike will carry a torch for many women to come in the future, showing them that traveling in Madhya Pradesh is safer for girls.

One of the main objectives of the trek is to highlight the rich biodiversity in the Satpura region which is extremely unexplored. We’re also expecting a hike in the total footfall of adventure enthusiasts on this trail after this event.

The commencement of this initiative will also expose many hidden trails to trekking enthusiasts, opening up a plethora of opportunities for them. “Queens on the trail is a step forward to provide the experience to the adventure lovers to experience the trekking in the buffer area of Satpura Tiger Reserve. These 15 women will promote State tourism & inspire other women and solo travelers to visit the land that offers different facets of wildlife, forest & animals at every step of the trek.

I also appreciate Moustache Escapes for this initiative, we welcome travelers from all over the world to visit the heart of Incredible India and experience the diverse experiences Madhya Pradesh has to offer,” said Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and Managing Director, MP Tourism

Board.

“These 15 woman trekkers will explore the unexplored the Forsyth trekking trail of Satpura Tiger Reserve and experience the beauty of nature and the night camping with stargazing in the dense forest. Madhya Pradesh tourism board has been taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of every traveller, especially women and solo travellers, encouraging them to visit and create memories with us,” Sonia Meena, Additional Managing Director of MP Tourism Board commented.
