Madhya Pradesh police have set example for whole country by taking strict actions during Lok Sabha election process. Madhya Pradesh has joined the country's leading States in police action.
According to the figures released by the Election Commission of India, Madhya Pradesh remained the second highest in the country in the seizure of illegal liquor, illegal drugs such as Cannabis, Smack, Poppy Husk, Brown sugar, Opium, Narcotic drugs and illegal jewelry.
In the state 34.74 lakh liters of illicit liquor, 200588 kg illegal drugs and 1,719 kg of jewelry like gold and silver etc. were seized. Madhya Pradesh has topped by seizing vehicles, laptops and other material worth Rs 12.24 crores. Police seized Rs 31.74 crores. In total around seizures of Rs 100 crore were seized in Madhya Pradesh.
During the election process by 9250 illegal weapons and 1511 cartridges were seized Madhya Pradesh police. In addition, 9 430 explosive items and 39 bombs were also recovered. A total of 441 check posts were established on different routes across the state and on these check posts 24421 cases were reported by FST, SST and other police teams by seizing drugs, illegally transported liquor, illegal transported drugs and other materials seized worth Rs 58.36 crores.
On the instructions of the police headquarters, a state-wide special drive was launched for strict action against illegal weapons, illegal liquor and drug seizure and criminal conspiracy and criminal elements. Clear instructions were issued from the police headquarters that action should be taken against criminal elements on the basis of the principle of "zero tolerance". During the campaigning, a large number of VIPs and special people arrived in the state, during which the security arrangements were kept adequate.The entire election process in the state was done peacefully without any violence, and success in maintaining law and order in the state.
