MP 'pakoda' activists give hard time to cops

The police officials on Saturday faced problems in controlling activists from both Congress and BJP that were engaged in pakoda politics.

To counter the Congress’ attack about pakoda remark by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, the BJP activists gathered at the Board office square. After a meeting, the activists were trying to march towards Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office, where the Congress activists are demonstrating for past two days.

While the activists were marching towards PCC office, a group of BJP workers, with a number of handcarts of pakodas also tried to cross the police barricading. In the placards, it was claimed that poor people are out in honour of the Prime Minister.

However, timely action by police officials averted the untoward incident. The police officials had put the barricades at Vyapam square. The BJP activists shouted slogans against Congress and in favour of the BJP and the Prime Minister and later pacified after around half an hour. Meanwhile, a police team at PCC headquarters was also deployed to avoid confrontation. However, Congress activists told that instead of any confrontation, they believe in welcoming the BJP activists with flowers.

The Congress activists led by Chief Spokesperson of Congress KK Mishra were seen with flowers in front of the PCC office.
