The Madhya Pradesh lokayukta (ombudsman) police on Monday conducted searches at the residence of a state government clerk and detected assets disproportionate to his known income, including two houses and three cars.
The searches at the residence of Rakesh Dubey, a clerk in Patan tehsil or sub-district office, yielded evidence of ownership of two houses, three cars and a motorcycle, lokayukta inspector Manoj Gupta told.
“The assets are prima facie disproportionate to Dubey's known sources of income. We are investigating how he came to acquire them,” Gupta said. Dubey has a monthly salary of Rs 22,000. He was earlier posted in the district courts. The lokayukta acted on a complaint against him.
