The State government on Monday lifted the ban on transfers of its employees and officials. Now, from April 15, all the employees from field to Mantralaya and directorates can be reshuffled.
The State Cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan sanctioned the transfer policy. As per the proposal, now transfers would take place in the State from April 15 to May 15.
The decision has come at a time when the employees were not transferred in the State for a long time. With this decision, the people's representatives feel jubilant as they would be now able to recommend transfer and posting of employees and officials of their choice.
There are speculations that besides reshuffling of Principal Secretary and Secretary level officials, District Collectors might also be reshuffled. The people's representatives had been demanding for long regarding posting the Collectors of their choice in their respective districts.
Meanwhile, taking the State Government at task, the main Opposition party Congress has criticized the State Government for lifting the ban on transfers. This might encourage the transfer industry in the State, as it used to be for decades in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief spokesman of the Congress KK Mishra has alleged that everybody in the State knows the fact that transfer always encourages corruption in the State. Besides, some officials also face problems due to the bullying attitude of people's representatives.
