In Madhya Pradesh, renewable energy projects of 1497.33 MW have been set up in financial year 2015-16. Madhya Pradesh has become pioneer in establishment of renewable energy projects in one year. last year, 24 percent of country's total renewable energy capacity was established in the state. Investment of over `10,000 crore has been made in renewable energy projects in Madhya Pradesh. State's installed capacity of renewable energy projects has gone up to 3018.29 MW.
Excellent work has also been undertaken in setting up of wind energy projects in the state. During last fiscal, wind energy projects of 1261.4 MW capacity were set up in the state against 3200 MW in entire country. Thus, state's share in wind energy projects in the country was 40 percent. New and Renewable Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla has congratulated departmental officers for making Madhya Pradesh pioneer in renewal energy sector.
