In view of the shortfall in subsidy, the state government has urged to increase the subsidy given in the centrally funded schemes. Similarly, the Centre has also been urged to give approval for obtaining one percent additional loan without conditions on GSDP.

Today, during a discussion of Finance Ministers of states with the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on various budget proposals before the Union Budget, Finance Minister Jagdish Deora made important suggestions on behalf of the state government to Madhya Pradesh on the budget proposals suited to the need of Madhya Pradesh in the Union Budget.

Deora said that inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build Atmanirbhar Bharat, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has prepared a roadmap for creating an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. This year’s budget will make this concept come true and Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh will also be formed along with a powerful Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Deora said that funds are being transferred directly from the Government of India to the bank accounts under the centrally sponsored regional schemes. The amount of these schemes should be made available through the Consolidated Fund of the state. He also held discussion on increasing the proportion of centre’s share in the centrally sponsored and centrally aided schemes related to infrastructure works like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Smart City Mission etc.

The Minister told the Union Finance Minister that Rs 3,685 crore has been demanded from the Government of India as compensation for the damage caused by pest outbreak and flood disaster against which only Rs 611 crores has been received so far. There should be provision for more fund to the states for relief and rehabilitation during various natural disasters.
