The Madhya Pradesh Government was on Wednesday put in the dock in the Assembly by ruling BJP's own legislators over the issues of supply of sub-standard seeds and granting permission for the sale of title deeds belonging to the Scheduled Caste and the Backward Classes.
Raising the issue during the Question Hour, Bahadur Singh Chouhan (BJP) said action has been taken against the owner of Navlakha Seed Compnay in connection with the supply of sub-standard seeds. However, no action has been taken against officials concerned with whose collusion the irregularities took place.
Chouhan alleged that the company distributed over 1.50 lakh quintal fake seeds to peasants. Several Congress members stood up and created ruckus-like situation over the issue. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra, who was replying to the query in Home Minister Babulal Gaurs absence, said the matter would be investigated by the Agriculture Department. However, the member demanded investigation into the matter by a senior police official from Bhopal.
He demanded that the inquiry be completed within a month. Conceding to the members demand, the Minister agreed for a probe by a senior police official from Bhopal. During the Question Hour, Satyapal Singh Sikarwar of BJP sought to know about the number of cases wherein the Government granted permission for the sale of title deeds belonging to backward caste members in Morena and the details thereof. He alleged that the rules for the sale of land under such category are not being complied with.
The member charged that his fundamental question was changed. Several Congress members stood up and created uproar over the matter. Congress member Ramniwas Rawat made a certain comment but it was expunged by Speaker Sitasharan Sharma.
In his reply, Revenue Minister Rampal Singh informed that the sale of 99 title deeds took place between 2012 to October 2015. He said the district collector concerned ensured compliance of rules.
However, he would get the matter probed if the member brought up a specific case. During the Question Hour, Parul Sahu Kesri of BJP raised the issue of the Town Inspectors (Jaisinagar, Sagar) alleged insensitivity towards matters related to offences against women and thanked the Government for line attaching him.
However, she demanded that the TI be removed outside the district. The demand was accepted by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra.
