Concerned over the continuous deaths of tigers in the state, Rights and Tiger activist from the State capital Ajay Dubey has alleged that the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department instead of getting criminals convicted hiding figures of tigers’ death in conspiracy and also providing false information over it to Government of India’s National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
Dubey in a statement here on Thursday said, “MP government on the basis of long pending demand of opening two offices of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (APCCF) decide in February this year to open these offices at Indore and Gwalior but opened only one office this month at Indore. But, surprisingly overlooked opening of office at Jabalpur that is near to Kanha, Pench, Bandhavgarh, Satpura and Sanjay – Dubri Tiger reserves and adjoins tiger reserves of other states and is clearly very sensitive are for tigers.” He said that this is criminal negligence as if the forest department would have established the office at Jabalpur than only department’s honesty towards conservation of tigers and other animals would have been seen.
He said that Pench Tiger Reserve that has emerged as the graveyard of Tigers exposes serious negligence’s of the forest department as 9 tigers have been reported dead till now in this tiger reserve since the beginning of 2016. Overlooking tiger’s safety crore of rupees are spent over construction in buffer zone without permission of NTCA and Central Zoo Authority in the name of eco tourism for tiger safari.
