Alleging that after the Vyapam scam, Madhya Pradesh is facing irregularities in NEET 2017 in Madhya Pradesh, Akshay Hunka, the core committee member of social organisation Vichar Madhya Pradesh demanded a high-level probe in it.

Vichar Madhya Pradesh has demanded that strict action should be taken against officials responsible for this loss of youth of the State, and 13 seats of their share should be included in the State quota.

Hunka informed that the four-member monitoring committee headed by DGP Vijay Wate will be formed, including former MlA Girija Shankar Sharma, former MlA Paras Sakalecha and Retired Additional PCCF Azad Singh Dabas. This committee will constantly monitor the NEET counselling and admission process and if any inconsistency will be found, it will immediately send it to the responsible officers and will also make it public.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 remained in controversies since its announcements. Now, NEET 2017 is in headlines for its counselling process. According to Vichar, the medical students of Madhya Pradesh have lost as many as 13 seats with ongoing disturbances in NEET 2017.

Vichar has decided to form a four-member inspection committee for monitoring the NEET disorders, Akshay told the media persons on Saturday.

While talking to the media persons Akshay said that more than 300 non-domicile students got admission from the State quota, although the High Court had canceled the admissions and instructed them to re-council.

He further said that on August 30, colleges of District Medical Education (DME) released the online information about the distribution of seats in all government medical colleges.

According to the website, there are a total of 850 seats in Madhya Pradesh, out of which 29 seats are reserved for GOI nominee. Of the remaining 821 seats, 15% i.e. 123 seats should be all-India quota and remaining percentage 698 seats should be in the state quota.

Instead, only 691 seats are being seen in the state quota and 130 seats are allocated for 123 seats in the all India quota.

Akshay also points out that the Chhattisgarh State also gets almost equal seats. He said that Madhya Pradesh’s neighboring state Chhattisgarh has got 550 seats. Of which only 15 seats are reserved for GOI nominee. Out of 535, 15% i.e. 81 seats All India quota and remaining 85% i.e. 454 seats should have been in the state quota.
