The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that Madhya Pradesh, which was earlier known as a BIMARU State about a decade ago, has now emerged as top model in farming and other fields in the country. BJP Madhya Pradesh general secretary and State president of farmer’s cell Banshilal Gurjar in a statement here on Saturday said, “Madhya Pradesh that was known as BIMARU State about a decade back has now emerged as top model in farming and other fields in the country. Remarkable works have been done in the state in the field of farming.”

Gurjar attributed all the development works done in the State besides the progress made by the State in all fields to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. After being number one in wheat production from the last three years and winning prestigious Krashi Karman Award thrice in a row the State had now become number one State of the country in the farming of organic cotton, he added.

He said that Chief Minister Chouhan understanding the core of farmers worked on the lines of making agriculture a profitable business. He had tried to fulfil Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s dream of water for every field and work for every hand. Farmers of the state have unbound trust over chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he added.

He said due to the farmers’ hard work clubbed with Chouhan-led MP’s BJP Government better agriculture polices State had set new dimensions of agriculture leaving behind other States. Standing on number one position in cultivation of organic cotton is historic achievement. The State president of BJP farmer’s cell said that Chouhan Government had worked to implement schemes in the interest of the farmers whereas the Congress only pretended to be the well-wisher of the farmers. The farmers of the state are now prosperous, he added.
