Madhya Pradesh and Indore can be business destinations for Taiwan companies and Taiwan can provide cooperation in the field of technology transfer, joint-venture and investment. Taiwan is also looking new investment destinations for next 10 years, because at present our companies have made investment only in China.’
This was stated by Chief Advisor of Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s (TETDC) James KJ Chen.
Chen was on a day’s visit to Indore to explore possibilities in the field of business cooperation. TETDC is a semi-government body of Taiwan and its purpose is to serve as a nodal agency to act as a facilitator between the trade and industry of Taiwan and other nations.
Chen while talking to media persons said: “We know Taiwan is a small country in comparison to India and even MP, but Taiwan companies are very advanced. Chen further said that Taiwan companies have made the most of their investment in China. US stands at second position while India at 10th position.”
Chen further said that in next 10 years, one can find more senior people in China than India’s. On the other hand, India will have young and skilled man power, market, and entrepreneurs, he added.
He said at present, Taiwanese companies are looking for future investment destination, in such a case India can be a better option for them. Chain, who reached Bhopal yesterday and reached here on Saturday said that as per my experience, food processing can be a vital area of business cooperation between the industries of both sides, he added.
He said: “I have seen abundant cultivation of soybean and other cash crops here.”
Chen looked quite impressed to see development of trade and industry in MP. He said Indore has three SEZs and major industrial area Pithampur. Chen also cited lack of infrastructure in industrial areas.
