Giving a New Year gift to the Adhyapak cadre of teachers, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced the 6th pay scale for them with effect from January 1, 2016, instead of the earlier scheduled date of Sept 1, 2017.
The decision will benefit 1.84 lakh Adhyapaks in the State. It will entail a fiscal burden of Rs 1125 crore for the State exchequer. Making the announcement in Mumbai while on a visit, the Chief Minister said that since year 2004 the State Government had been showing maximum concern towards the teachers who raise the future of generations.
The contractual teachers appointed earlier were made Adhyapaks and then the Adhyapak cadre was formally constituted. The State Govt has constantly increased their wages and honorarium.
The CM said that he feels happy while saying that the Government has received better results. These days, students studying in Government schools are succeeding in prestigious exams like IIT and IIM. For this, he congratulated Government school teachers imparting teaching dutifully.
He said that despite drawing low salaries and honorarium, the teachers have paid maximum attention to children's education. He said that results of Government schools in Board exams have also improved.
The Chief Minister said that now it is the turn of the Government to reciprocate the teachers' yeoman's service. Therefore, the State Government has decided to give the 6th pay scale to Adhyapaks from January 1, 2016 which was earlier scheduled to be given from September 1, 2017.
