Efforts are being made by Indore police to bring back Ukraine national Andrii Glukhovskiy Anatolievich, arrested by Interpol in Germany a few days ago in connection with an Rs 81 lakh fraud case in the city about three years back.
Indore range IG Vipin Maheshwari informed that after the arrest of the Ukraine national in Germany, Indore police have stepped up efforts to bring the accused back to Indore from Ukraine which in any case will take at least 5-6 months as per India's extradition treaty with Ukraine.
According to report, a Ukraine-based company 'Mriya-K' had placed an order for garments worth Rs 81 lakh in June 2011 to Indore-based Agape Business Corporation. After receiving the order, the Indore-based company had dispatched the consignment. The goods were allegedly taken by Mriya-K company and another Ukraine-based firm Kosmoledo without submitting original invoices and other relevant documents. After several notices for payment by the victim, the accused were not willing to reply and pay for the goods.
Subsequently, the proprietor of Indore-based company, Ramchandra Saranu, lodged a complaint to this effect with MIG police on December 19, 2012, alleging that four Ukraine nationals Natali Sorakina, Andrii, Slavic Malanuha and Kelly Hoodik, had colluded to cheat him, importing the goods without making the payment.
After lodging the complaint with the police, the victim also moved the High Court seeking action against the accused. Subsequently, taking cognisance of the plaint, the Madhya Pradesh High Court (Indore bench) directed police to provide information to the Interpol to issue a 'red corner notice'. A red corner notice seeking arrest of the wanted person and subsequent extradition to the country where he is wanted had been sent, police sources informed.
