A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic collaboration was signed between the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh (NID MP) and School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal (SPAB) on Tuesday at the NID MP campus.
Prof N Sridharan, Director SPA Bhopal underlined the need to broaden the scope for research and teaching through such collaborative efforts and said that the MoU paves the way for development of student exchanges, student internships, and new faculty research endeavours between both the Institutions.
The partnership aims to foster collaborative academic and research activities along with exchange visits of faculty, technical staff and students. It shall also facilitate joint industrial projects, publications, conduct of special short-term joint academic programs and use of each other’s facilities.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Dhiraj Kumar, Director NID MP said that the main objectives are to recognise each other’s strengths and co-operate in the fields of Design and Architecture, providing opportunities for academic and professional development of faculty and technical staff.
National Institute of Design Madhya Pradesh (NID MP). NIDMP an institute of National importance is an autonomous institution under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India. The Institute has commenced academic activities for spreading design education, research, and practice from the Academic Year 2019-2020. NID MP has a beautiful 29.49 acre clean and green campus, with state-of-the-art ambience by the appropriate use of technology and innovation. NID MP promises to provide the best institutional experience to the students. Current portfolio of academic programs is with Bachelor’s in Design Degree award in Industrial Design, Textile and Apparel Design and Communication Design with 1-year Common Foundation program.
