Waseem Qureshi, Project Head of Ziqitza Healthcare ltd (ZHl) said that Motor Transport Worker’s Act has not been violated by his company while dealing with employees and none of the employees has been terminated.

While interacting with the media persons on Thursday, Qureshi said that around 200 employees decided to abandon their vehicles before completing their roster and handed over the keys to their cluster leaders or the nearest police station.

ZHl is always in compliance with the laws of the land we operate in. In relation to the employees’ working hours we followed all the terms laid down in the Motor Transport Workers Act and the contract with the Government and National Health Mission.

On receiving a notice from the employees on the strike, ZHl had immediately moved for reconciliation in the presence of Assistant labour Commissioner, Bhopal.

Assistant labour Commissioner, Bhopal directed the employees to serve regular duty hours until a decision is taken about their demands. The date for the reconciliation meeting is scheduled on April 11. There are several rumors which the company refutes ZHl has terminated the services of 3500 workers, 43 out of 49 workers were given a termination letter, only 7- 14 ambulances were on road, out of 17 ambulances, there were no EMTs in the ambulances, 7 years old ambulances are being run in the state.

The orders of the labour Commissioner were not followed and the drivers have been made to work for 12 hours instead of 8 hours, since the time ZHl has started services they have kept the log book with them, which should actually be with the Government officials. ZHl is running old vehicles and charging random compensation without following the log book, ZHl has appointed untrained staff to run the 108 service in MP, the workers of Sanjeevani Express have left the job as ZHl did not give them a pay hike. The ambulances of this are not operational anymore.
