He said that special emphasis would be laid to curb crimes against women and vigil would be increased in areas where coaching institute and schools and colleges are situated to create better atmosphere.

Adarsh Kaityar assumed charge as IG Bhopal on Thursday; the 1992 batch IPS Officer of MP Cadre worked as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in the year 2009; outgoing IG Yogesh Deshmukh has been posted as IG Administration.
Yogesh Deshmukh after a small stint of three months was transferred and new Bhopal IG would be Adarsh Katiyar who is known for professional efficiencies.
Replying to a question IG Katiyar said that with the advancement in the technologies are remarkable and would be used in the best possible way to control crime and help in managing traffic.
The areas like CCTV surveillance and to strengthen the system using high resolution cameras would be among the priorities. The installed dated old CCTV cameras would be replaced.
Adarsh Katiyar was first Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Bhopal in 2009 when the system was first introduced in Bhopal. He was posted in Chhattisgarh Naxal dominated Bastar as SP.
