Making a breakthrough in the murder of a 15-year-old boy, the police on Sunday arrested his mother and her paramour. The accused have been identified as the victim’s mother Bebibai and her paramour Ankit.
According to police, the woman in connivance with her paramour suffocated her son to death as the latter saw her in a compromising position with the teen-age boy, Ankit, on Friday night. The deceased's body had been found in a nullah in Devnagar locality under MIG police station on Saturday morning.
A preliminary probe into the matter by MIG police revealed that Ankit, the paramour of deceased's mother, used to threaten Pankaj of dire consequences and had even served death threat on him. Suspecting his involvement in the case, MIG police took Ankit in its custody and interrogated him. Subsequently, he confessed to his crime.
On being interrogated by the police, Ankit said that he had an illicit relation with Pankaj's mother. On Friday night, he was with Pankaj's mother. When Pankaj returned home, he saw them in a compromising position and had a fight with him. Fight between us aggravated further. “While beating him, I suffocated him to death,” Ankit told police adding that after killing Pankaj, he wraped latter's body in quilt and threw it in a nullah located behind the house. To ensure that no one is able to trace the body, he threw garbage on both sides of the quilt. Ankit said that at the time of incident Pankaj's wife was also present.
Police said that at the time of incident, Pankaj's father was in Gwalior and he had returned on Saturday morning. Soon after he returned from Gwalior, Pankaj's father enquired about his son's whereabouts from his wife but did not get satisfactory reply. On the basis of interrogation with Ankit, MIG police arrested both Ankit and the deceased's wife and registered a case of murder against them.
