Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that several schemes are being implemented in the state for women empowerment. The aim of my life is to change the lives of women and bring smile on their faces.Chouhan attended Ladli Bahna Sammelan at Malajkhand in Balaghat district today and performed bhoomi-pujan and dedicated development works worth Rs 207 crore. The Chief Minister was welcomed by the tribal community with traditional form of dance and musical instruments.
Chouhan said that no woman will remain helpless in the state, we will make them strong. I will not let tears come in the eyes of my sisters. He said that in earlier decades, despair was visible on the faces of the parents after the birth of a girl child. At the same time, worries about the daughter’s upbringing, education and marriage used to bother them.
Ladli Laxmi Yojana was started in the state to remove this agony of the poor class. While the social attitude towards daughters has changed with the schemes and programmes started for women empowerment, there has also been an increase in the sex ratio of the state. Balaghat is one of the districts of the state where the sex ratio is very good. Here sons and daughters are looked upon equally. Today I am very happy with the love and affection received from my sisters. Every breath of a daughter is for her parents, she can never forget them.
Today I happily say that more than 44 lakh Ladli Lakshmis are my daughters, daughter is not a burden but a boon. He said that the properties are now being registered in the name of women. The government had decided that 50 percent reservation should be given to women in local elections. The effect of this has been that women are now on the posts of panch, sarpanch, corporator, Janpad, district panchayat president and members and they are running the government.
The Chief Minister said that on the evening of June 10, the amount of Ladli Bahna Yojana will be deposited in the accounts of sisters. Sisters will be able to withdraw this amount the next day on June 11. He said that as a brother it is my duty to give some gifts to my sisters. For this, an amount of Rs 1000 per month will be deposited in the accounts of the sisters. With this amount, these sisters will be able to fulfill their own needs and the needs of their families.
The Chief Minister said that forms of one crore 25 lakh eligible sisters have been accepted in the state. Ladli Bahna Sena is being formed in every village to monitor the schemes run in the interest of women at the field. 21 women members will be included in big villages and 11 women members in small villages. Collector Dr. Girish Mishra told that 3 lakh 53 thousand forms have been filled in the district, out of which DBT work has been completed in 3 lakh 41 thousand accounts.
Chouhan said that many innovative schemes are being implemented to empower women. With the launching of Ladli Bahna Yojana, the work of women empowerment has become easier in the state. With the amount received from the scheme, women will not have to depend on other people for small expenses. He said that by associating women with the livelihood mission, their economic condition is being strengthened. It is my resolve that the monthly income of each sister should be Rs 10,000.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government is taking the responsibility of providing higher education to talented students of poor families not only in the country but also in foreign countries. Economic condition will not be allowed to become a hindrance in studies. He also informed about the recently launched Mukhyamantri Seekho Aur Kamao Yojana.
