Monsoon delayed in State

Published on:

Prediction of weak monsoon seems to be proving true as majority of the State regions are yet to receive monsoon rains due to the steady and stationary monsoon activities confined in fewer regions of the state.

For the past three days, despite some cloud cover, the citizens witness hot weather. Except few regions with scanty and light thundershower most of the state parts remained dry.

The further advancement of the monsoon would take some more time to reach the state capital. It would take around 3 days to hit the state capital but ascertaining time of arrival is not possible because the moisture incursion which was good earlier has decreased significantly and it will result in increase in the temperatures. Central MP would witness increase in temperatures due to decrease in the moisture incursion. Strong winds which are witnessed currently disrupt the cloud formation which leads to rains.

City received day temperature at 38.3 degree Celsius and night temperature at 27.1 degree Celsius. Partial clouding was witnessed in the city but the day temperature was maintained as discomforting level. Indore recorded day temperature at 36.4 degree Celsius while the night temperature was recorded at 24 degree Celsius. Night temperature in Jabalapur is still witnessing at higher level and was witnessed at 27.8 degree Celsius.

The highest day temperature was recorded at 43 degree Celsius in Datia.
