A ruckus was witnessed in the laxmi Narayan College of Technology (lNCT) after the father of a student who went to the college on Friday in connection with a complaint against the molestation of his daughter by another student on the campus a few days ago, died of cardiac arrest.
SHO of Bilkharia police station Manoj Patwa said that the accused student, Aditya, had passed obscene comments when the girl student was at the college canteen with her friends on August 6. The victim had then complained to the college management, but instead of taking any action against the accused, the management summoned the offender, the girl student and the fathers of both the students.
On Friday after the victim and the accused arrived at the college with their parents the matter was reportedly resolved but soon the victim's father suffered a cardiac arrest and died in the hospital. When the students of the college learnt about the death they staged a protest. The protesting students were dispersed by the police and were pacified after police intervention.
later their demand of providing support to the victim was accepted by the college management. The management also agreed to provide fee waiver for the girl student and for other facilities also she would not be charged, he added. Sources claim that the college management was negligent in handling the issue and the officials involved in resolving the issue were biased. Upon this, the victim's father was shocked and suffered cardiac arrest which led to his death.
The accused misbehaved with the victim at the meeting too which shocked the victim's father, it is alleged. The college management has denied it and claimed that the death of the victim's father was not linked with the matter. Now in the wake of the death of the victim's father, the college management has assured that action would be taken against the accused student. The victim hails from Chhindwara.
