Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan greeted the newly-elected BJP members of the lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Chouhan had invited them to high tea. Those present on the occasion included BJP MPs from Madhya Pradesh Sushma Swaraj, Narendra Singh Tomar, Anup Mishra, Kaptan Singh Solanki, Virendra Kumar Khatik, Nagendra Singh, Sudhir Gupta, Phaggan Singh Kulaste, Rakesh Singh, Ganesh Singh, Bodh Singh Bhagat, Alok Sanjar, Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Manohar Untwal, Dilip Singh Bhuria, Prahlad Patel, Bhagirath Prasad, laxminarayan Yadav, Reeti Pathak, Jyoti Dhurve, Subhash Patel, Nand Kumar Chouhan, Najma Heptullah, Chandan Mitra, Satyanarayan Jatia, Thawarchand Gehlot and Ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya and Narottam Mishra.
The Chief Minister said that now a new chapter of development will be added to Madhya Pradesh. The State Government has ensured better development of Madhya Pradesh with its resources. But several projects are pending due to lack of desired cooperation of the Central Government, which will now be promptly cleared. This will give the country and the State a new identity at international level.
Chouhan told the MPs that nowadays even the most ordinary BJP workers are getting highest posts in the party. When an ordinary worker gets high post, it further boosts the morale of other workers.
Narendra Modi is set to become Prime Minister. Several persons who were ordinary party workers till recently are now going to represent the State in Parliament now. Chouhan asked the MPs to set high standards in society by keeping their conduct on a high pedestal. It is necessary for MPs to serve people with transparency and high standards to maintain people's continued trust.
Sushma Swaraj said that the lok Sabha election results are astonishing for political parties. A majority Government has been formed for the first time after 1984. It has forced election analysts to re-think. People had laughed at the party's claim of winning even 272 seats.
Now, the party has won 282 seats on its own and NDA 335 seats. Major victory comes with sense of discharging responsibilities. Sushma Swaraj said that now lists of all pending proposals of Madhya Pradesh should be sent to the Central Government at the earliest so that clearance can be taken from the concerned departments.
