Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh here on Monday taking a dig at the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, said Narendra Modi’s growing stature has left both his parties — the Bharatiya Janata Party and the RSS — behind him, in an informal chat with the media here last night.

Digvijay pooh-poohed the BJP’s claim that Modi enjoys 60 per cent popularity in the country, which according to him is a big lie of the social media and it is far away from the truth as almost 60 per cent of his supporters’ hosting on the social media is fake, he added.

Ridiculing Gujarat government’s parameter of a daily earning of `10.80 for the people living below poverty line, the senior Congress leader said that it speaks of the BJP’s double speak on the matter as the party had early raised a hue and cry sometime back when the Planning Commission had fixed a daily earning parameter for the people living below poverty line. let the BJP President Raajnath Singh be come with his explanation for determining parameters for the people living below poverty line, the Congress leader added.

Describing Modi as a leader with hardcore communal ideologies, Singh said the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate had in fact felicitated those who were accused of Muzaffar Nagar riots. Demanding a CBI probe into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Board Examination scam, the Congress leader said it was quite surprising that the Chief Minister was also keeping mum over the scam when the leader of her own party, Uma Bharati had described MP Professional Examination Board scam as far bigger than the fodder scam rocking Bihar several years back. He said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was not uttering any word on the scam because of the fact that his party’s ministers and their acolytes are involved in the scam.
