Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav said that Modi forgot his pre-election promises after coming to power and he became busy with other assignments.
Yadav while talking to reporters here on Friday said, “A strong resentment is prevailing among voters and if the promises are not fulfilled, they changed the Government and teach a lesson as soon as they get chance. In today’s context, running a Government is like riding on a tiger.”He said Modi promised to provide three times more price of the farmers’ crops and increased only three per cent. Similarly, he also promised to give employment to youths but no work was done towards it, he pointed out.
Parrying the direct query regarding the poor performance of the JD (U) in Jharkhand Assembly elections, Yadav said “The Bharatiya Janata Party’s vote percentage has come down to 30 per cent during the Assembly polls in Jharkhand while it was 40 per cent during the general elections that signifies electorate’s dissatisfaction.”
The senior socialist leaders launching an attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged the saffron party is trying to divide the country on communal grounds. They are not concerned about unemployed youth and farmer suicides, he said.On formation of the new front the JD (U) president said, “We are trying to bring together people with similar ideologies in the proposed front. This third front will emerge as the voice of the middle-class.”
